Missives from the Year of the Burger
I decided to grill up the poblano peppers on this one to combine some charbroiled and freshness vibes. Ranch dressing balances it out.
Oklahoma onion burgers are a quintessential version of classic American smashburgers. These should be more common.
Grabbed half-pound some cheddar Festy burgers, grilled them up real nice, and told everyone to do whatever they want with them. Some people had ketchup, mustard, and pickles. Others just had some French’s onions.
We still had avocados from the Super Bowl and lucked into having those short rib patties from Meat People again. So here we are, trying out a guacamole bacon burger.
Finally got a chance to try the short rib patties from Meat People, and they are excellent.
We had a pork shoulder for dinner the previous day, so I repurposed some leftovers with some freshly cut onions to make a pulled pork burger. The pork was brought back to life in a wok with BBQ sauce and the new onions, with the result being pretty comparable to legitimate pulled pork.
Really more about the gravy than the burger, if we’re being honest.
Still had beef and French rolls from yesterday’s experiment, so kept it simple with salt, smashed patties, and American cheese.
Starting off with our first burger of the year and trying to use some leftover Brunkow pizza cheese. Grabbed the relevant ingredients to pair from Festival and cooked on the flattop to stick with thinner, slightly crunchy patties.
